The article I found was posted by Jacqueline S. Homan on May 25th, 2011. The article title is “Democracy” and rhw Desecration of Native Burial Sites. This article is about how ancient burial sites have been bulldozed, developed, or erased from history and most of these burial sites have evidence of red ochre used by the original people in North America. A site of this ancient stuff is the Snake Mounds in Toronto’s high park. This site has been in danger because BMX bikers have gone on the jumps that were made but would affect the site. There were Native Americans protesting the BMX bikers couldn’t ride in that spot to protect the ancient artifacts. But sadly some of the BMX bikers threw rocks at the Native Americans. This happened in the city of Toronto where the BMX bikers said was the best place for the to ride. This reminds me of how when they were taking down the forest area in New Milford to put more stores there and a lot of people didn’t like the idea at all.
Clarifying question: What was the problem with the biking spot?
Open ended question: Why would the BMX bikers throw rocks at the Native American protesters?
(i couldn't find the date this happened)
